Background

Bill has been paid to do artistic things for over 20 years, having started out in the early 1990’s, sweeping floors as a work experience runner on Kenneth Branagh’s: Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

Since then he’s worked as a prop and model maker on more than 30 big budget films such as Star Wars, Hugo, 5 Harry Potters, V for Vendetta, Bond and Prince of Persia.

Amongst other things, he helped build the model of Hogwarts Castle for the Harry Potter films, that is now on display at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour at Leavesden Studios, worked on the Chris Nolan film the Dark Knight Rises, as part of the team building the body armour for two full size models of Batman’s attack helicopter, built caves for the BBC’s series Merlin, sculpted rubber tentacles for Red Dwarf, helped create over 30 versions of the Sands of Time Dagger for Prince of Persia in brass, rubber and resin, and ran the workshop crew for Dick George Creatives when they created the Automaton for Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-winning film “Hugo”.


He has also worked in various Art Department roles in film, TV drama, documentaries and music videos, as a Production Designer, Art Director and Construction Manager.

In documentary, he has worked on around 40 productions for various production companies including BBC Arts, Brook Lapping, Raw, Darlow Smithson and Pioneer on projects with budgets up to £1million, in the UK and abroad.
